Do you have tight muscles?

Does pressing on one area of your body refer pain to another area?

Are other treatments only providing temporary relief/no relief?

Do you have chronic pain?

If you answered YES to any of these questions, you very likely have trigger points in your muscles, and will benefit greatly from Dry Needling.

  • Hip and pelvic pain
  • Myofascial pain
  • Tennis elbow
  • IT band syndrome
  • Runners’ knee(patellofemoral pain syndrome)

How does dry needling help migraines?

If a person’s migraines are being caused by trigger points, dry needling can be used to successfully treat them.

Trigger points in muscles of the shoulder and neck refer pain to the head. When the trigger points are resolved by dry needling, this eliminates the pain.

How is dry needling done?

Dry needling is performed using very thin, single use acupuncture needles. The needle is inserted into the affected muscle and a local twitch response is  typically seen in the muscle as the trigger point is being needled.

Is dry needling the same as acupuncture?

Dry needling is a form of acupuncture, and when you choose an acupuncturist trained in dry needling to provide your treatment, you will have these extra benefits:

  • The treatment is provided by a needling expert, with many years experience of using acupuncture needles
  • Other types of acupuncture that are particularly effective for treating musculoskeletal issues will also be available during the treatment if they are indicated
